MHWirth Signs Long-term Service Agreement with Transocean
A new performance based business model designed to increase productivity and reduce operating costs.
MHWirth announced last week the signing of a 10-year agreement with Transocean for the maintenance programs associated with MHWirth produced drilling equipment valued up to $100 million.
The contract calls for MHWirth and Transocean to collaborate on Transocean’s top side drilling equipment on seven ultra-deepwater drillships and two harsh environment semisubmersibles. Of the nine floaters, four rigs have a complete MHWirth top side equipment package and five rigs are equipped with a MHWirth top drive. The agreement includes maintenance, inspection, provision of spares, overhaul, repair and recertification of the equipment.
“This agreement ensures strong alignment between Transocean’s performance and reliability culture and MHWirth’s core capabilities as a global drilling systems provider,” said Finn Amund Norbye, CEO of MHWirth. “Together, we challenge the traditional business models and strive towards predictability in cost and enhanced efficiency in operations. The agreement is also a strong incentive to enhance our data driven condition based monitoring tools for optimal maintenance of the drilling equipment to our clients.”
These programs will help to reduce total cost of ownership for the offshore equipment and increase the uptime associated with the top side drilling equipment through integrated technical, operational and commercial solutions.
