Finn Amund Norbye to step down as CEO of MHWirth

Finn Amund Norbye has informed the MHWirth Board of Directors that he will leave the position as CEO of MHWirth within the end of 2018.

“MHWirth has through Finn Amund Norbye’s leadership completed a successful turn-around following the downturn in the oil service industry that started in 2014. Finn Amund Norbye has contributed greatly to improve MHWirth’s competitive position through the down cycle, demonstrated by the awards of the only two full drilling package projects in the market the last four years (the Husky West White Rose Project and the Keppel FELS/Awilco project)”, says Leif Borge, Chairman of the MHWirth Board.

The MHWirth Board of Directors wants to express its sincere thanks to Finn Amund for his efforts as CEO.

Finn Amund Norbye comments: “This is a good time to hand over MHWirth to a new CEO. The company is in a solid shape, with a strong organization and dedicated management team well prepared to face the next phase. It has been demanding but also very inspiring to head MHWirth through the turn-around. Over the last couple of years much effort and energy has been put into optimizing the cost base of the company, however I am very proud of how we at the same time have been able to preserve key competencies and develop the company further through new solutions and innovative technology increasing efficiency for rig owners and oil companies”.

The Board of MHWirth will initiate a recruitment process, where both internal as well as external candidates will be considered.
